one bottle of wine, that was the absolute best of the best, from any region in the

world, which region would it be?

Personally, I'd choose Bordeaux, without a second thought - even though I'm a big

fan of Italian and Spanish wines. and Argentina. and Portugal. and most other

regions in France.

I am a sucker for great Mclaren Vale Shiraz and...I can barely say it...New Zealand (Otago) Pinot Noir.

so much to choose from but in the end, absolutely no contest. a great burgundy, especially from DRC, leaves absolutely everything else so far behind that it doesn't matter.

looking forward to a 78 DRC richebourg tomorrow night and also a more likely dodgy richebourg from 1934 (not DRC) but who knows. happy to be a guinea pig. there will be some great bordeaux from '61 present but if the burg comes up to expectations, they'll be just there to make up the numbers.

am a big fan of vega sicilia also. recently got half a dozen from early '80s at an auction at seriously cheap prices.

When you guys are ready to have a tasting, let me know. On the beach near Sao

Paulo sounds good to me.

Maybe we can stage this tasting during a women's beach volleyball tournament -

though I'm not sure how appealing that would be to KG.........
