Colt45 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 » In this world were our country is being invaded by US styles of dress and » behaviour, with our kids dressing like gangsters and treating everyone with distain Sounds like a parental guidance problem....... I'm also quite curious as to what you perceive to be the behavior of an entire country? No offense to the intent of this thread.
El Presidente Posted September 4, 2006 Author Posted September 4, 2006 Agreed Colt It has nothing to do with US invasion but lazy Australian parents not enforcing the rules of the house. My kids don't wear gangster bullshit nor treat anyone with disdain. Our family has pride. I have been a guest of many a US friend household and never once see that crap go on. No doubt it happens there as it happens here. It will always happpen while there is no licence needed to breed. People watch what they want to...I have no problem with that. If you want Aussies to watch Aussie programs then make fricken better programs.
MasterOMayhem Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 My prayers go out to his family and friends
Ben Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Damn shame to lose such an enthusiastic wildlife conservationalist and all round genuine bloke. Rest in Peace Steve.
genevapics Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 What a bizzare (sp?) way to die. It's a shame too, because he was a champion for animals and animal rights. R.I.P. Steve Irwin.
stever Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I couldn't believe the sad news. Loved his sense of humor and enthusiasm.
josie67 Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 My condolances to his family; very sad indeed.
Bigby Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 From friends here in Ohio to all friends down under, our deepest sympathies. Your country and the world has lost a very entertaining and enthusiastic man. Our sympathy to Steves family.:-(
tmos Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Aw, he wouldn't want us to be all sad about him going. I've seen him narrowly escape death many times. How many poisonous snakes did Steve capture with his bare hands, dodging their strikes while explaining to all of us about how quickly he'd die if they bit him? When I remember Steve Irwin a smile will always come to my face. What else can you ask for out of this life? He made people happy. Thanks for the memories Steve. See you on the other side!
Shooter Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 I would have liked to have met the man. I'm still in disbelief as he truly seemed immortal. He will be sadly missed but joyfully remembered for as long as I live. Condolences to his family.
bradc Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 He was a top bloke and a great Australian! The kind of guy that even if you never met him, you always felt you knew him. There was something in all of us that he represented and he followed his heart and did things all of us wish we could. The world is a lesser place now that he's gone. May his death cause ten more just like him to spring up. May God bless his Family and give them comfort. Good on ya, Steve. Here's to you...!
Guest boss hogg Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 I was saddened to hear that news. The thing that pissed me off is that I was at a trade show in Germany and mentioned it to an Australian business contact. He said "Yup, I just got my first text message joke from back home. 'What will be Steve Irwin's funeral song? Crocodile Rock by Sting' ".
Wiley Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 » I think the thing about Steve is that he is an Aussie! In this world were » our country is being invaded by US styles of dress and behaviour, with our » kids dressing like gangsters and treating everyone with distain, it was » always refreshing to see Steve Irwin representing everything that was » great about being an Aussie! » » Ross... Maverick is an American term, btw. :-P
