My 4 year old and 1 year old sleep under the security blanket that your daughter and son-in-law provide for us every night. I am very grateful for the service. I spent 6 months in the area in 1990. It was a walk in the park compared to now. I know you are very proud. God bless them and everyone deployed in that part of the world right now. I am looking forward to your their return. My prayers are with you all.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way!!!

I have a seven year old daughter. I can't let her out of my sight for more than a few seconds when she's in my care. I can only imagine how difficult this must have been for you.

Last Saturday - when I hugged my daughter and watched her walk onto the plane that would take her to her 1st Tour of Duty in Iraq.

Here is the pix I took of Alyson & my son-in-law, Dru,at Ft Benning, NC just before Alyson left to board that plane.. What a mix of emotions - I never wanted that hug to end - but at the same time I was looking at my daughter, I was also seeing a well trained and well qualified young 2nd Lieutenant, West Point grad, wearing AIRBORNE wings and that prestigious Maroon Beret of an AIRBORNE Division (82nd Division ---"All the Way....and then some !!"

Dru left for his deployment last evening (Wednesday night) --- they are stationed at different bases about 50 miles apart in Iraq.

So many here at FOH have been very supportive of those who are called to Serve our Nation. Your smoke salutes and prayers for their safety and swift return home are sincerely requested for all who serve - but today I am making a special request for my 2 young Lieutenants, Alyson & Dru... God Bless Them All ........
