I already have an Aristocrat endtable unit. So I am familiar with Bob's work. Budget was the deciding factor on a chilled unit. Both Avallo and Aristocrat are quality products. BigSlick
I guess Matt will have time to get started on yours, my 'TD' was shipped Tuesday and will be here tomorrow morning. :-D Congrats Bro! TD
Colt45
I'm curious about the humidification system (I took a look at their site, but couldn't find a definative answer) - is it a true two way system? That is, can it remove humidity as well as add? I understand there are extra fans to move the air, but are these also relied upon to dissipate excess humidity? The air here is as thick as soup right now, and I'm just curious as to how these units handle really humid conditions. Thanks for any insight. El Presidente
Great question Colt. I would also love to know if it is a two way system?

Loki
My Avallo AH-1200 which seems to have the same humidification system as the cooled units does not remove humidity. It does keep very consistent humidity. Mine stays at 65% year round. I may go for the cooled unit next time around. Would have this year but I spent my cash on a new Harley. It was a tough decision, Harley or humidor?

I agree, both are "top of the food-chain" when it comes to humidors. Was just wondering what the deciding factor was. I guess I didn't realize there was much price different in their chilled units. DocRKS
The deciding point for me was the point by point comparing of the Electronic Control Units that come with each system. From a technical point of view - I felt one was a big step better designed than the other.... I think the wood offered in the Aristocrat line is of a better selection and higher quality than the Avallo offerings - but my main priority was the Electronics - so I purchased the Avallo in both the 5+ foot upright (Model 2000) as well as the Double Credenza size about a year later. I have been very pleased with my decision as the humidity is spot on in every area of the Humidors I test - it is remarkable how evenly humidified and right on RH setting these large cabinets stay... BTW - just for the record - I have no financial interst at all in the Avallo company - just offering up my opinion. These boxes have earned my loyalty.
