El Presidente Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 OCT 03 143mm 5.63 Inches 33 Ring Gauge Just cooked the Saturday afternoon BBQ for the family. Duck sausages and my marinated Chicken (Paprika, lemon juice, Garlic, Cumin, Tumeric, Olive oil and Mountadam Chardonnay). This has taken over as my BBQ cigar of choice. 25-30 minutes, full bodied, full flavoured. Smell at cold is Patagas spice and sweet cocoa. Cuban cut the cap to find the draw perfect, not too easy but requiring just a slight pull. These need to be enjoyed s l o w l y Pull on it too often and it is liable to overheat. Treat it like a delicate maiden and it repays you in spades. The flavour? From beiginning to end rich, lush Belgian cooking chocolate...bitter high quality cocoa and butter. The flavour intensity is amazing and consistent with the Connoisseur no 2 and Connoisseur No 1. I love this cigar but they are too rare on the ground. The avoidance of Panetelas by the market is a boon for Panatelaophiles but Havana has cut down on production of these gems in the past two years in preference for 52 ring gage monoliths. SHAME SHAME SHAME. Not available for sale currently but if you can put your hand on them....secure a box.
Tampa1257 Posted July 9, 2005 Posted July 9, 2005 Dang Rob! I just smoked a Partagas Seire du Connaisseur No. 3 yesterday from 1999 (EAT CCUA). I would also say that the flavors are simular to the Conn No 1 & No 2. Rich earthy, leathery smoke. Dense thick almost "meaty" smoke. I agree with your review totally. Those that try them, love them (when smoked slowly), those that don't, don't know what they are missing. Tampa PS, so when are you going to have some Rob???????

Don't ya'll tell the wife the real reason I married her.
