olotti Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Bought a couple singles from El Prez last year, I think they were late 04's if I'm correct, since I had never sampled this smoke before. Fired the first one up over the weekend and it was really good, had that nice Boli leather, spice and earthiness all the way through to the nub. It was a nice way to spend a couple hours and I think I'd like some more. :-P :-P Any advice or thoughts on current production?

I got a fiver of these not too long ago. 3 of the 5 were plugged. :-( Great taste and complexity on the unplugged ones but definitely turned off by the quality. TD
Jimmy2 Posted June 20, 2006 Posted June 20, 2006 Never had plug problems with the Boli CG dress boxes perfect....
cigardawg Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 I've smoked 2 Corona Gigantes over the last 18 months. Both had serious construction issues. One was plugged to the point of being unsmokable. The second tunneled, canoed, went out, and otherwise did not cooperate in the least. To top it off, the tar build up was so bad that the cigar tasted horrible. I have obviously not had good experiences with the Corona Gigantes.:-P Of course, the next one I try could turn out to be my favorite cigar ever...that's the beauty of this hobby.
habanohal Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 This weekend I cracked open a box from 2000. First it was plugged up prettty good, so trying to get true flavor was hard. I just hope they other 24 are better
hueynova Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 » Never had plug problems with the Boli CG dress boxes perfect.... I recently finished up a box...each one burned almost perfect, and not a plug in the batch. They were pretty young, too, but I enjoyed them immensely.
bassman Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 My favorite Churchill. Been working on a box from early 03. Very rich & earthy flavor. No draw problems at all.
CigarZen Posted June 21, 2006 Posted June 21, 2006 It is suprising to hear about this cigar having problems being plugged. I have had a good number of them from a number of different boxes without problem. I may have just been lucky. Don't give up on these they are excellent cigars, imho.
