I am hoping to find out off the Guru, G2 or other members, what they would recommend in the value size and convienently packaged cask wine industry and may be even share which type of cask wine and preffered size, ie; the 1,2 3,4,or 5 litre they have at home for when the unexpected guest drops in.G2 is your favorite cask wine come in red or white, whats the best region for cask wine, how long should I let it age? your opinion would be most valued..please let me know soon, I am having a party this weekend..

pj, i am deeply offended that you would even think i have a favourite cask wine or even knew what they were. i remember len e once telling me that he made a goose of himself on tv because on one show they handed him a cask and asked for his opinion - he had absolutely no idea how to even open them.

as for the intelligence quip, i guess it is all relative, but may be the guys on the trip knew something. does g1 stand for anything?

and bring on the screwcaps - best thing to happen to wine in decades.

(apparently those two litre casks from yalumba are considered the rolex of casks - everything else is just oris! - but i've met some of your mates and i'm thinking 44 gallon drums).

and on behalf of all those members of the forum who also have had the mail fail in their area, thanks for the invite! unfortunately, the most shocking dose of flu in history will prevent my attendance - i am not a good patient.
