Well Armed Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Smoked one last night and all I can say is I liked this one VERY much. It had a flavor profile that I want to describe as toasted sweet buttery crackers. This started off from the beginning and lasted well into the finish which became rich but super clean. Not really chocolatey but definitely a cocoa element. Maybe unsweetened baking cocoa mixed with some heavy cream and slathered onto a piece of baked wood that was grown on a steady diet of crumpets. It felt like I was eating a dessert that wasn't very sugary, but definitely sweet! I have a box of these from 01 that I have only sampled one out of last year. It tasted like fresh cut bamboo and maybe I will smoke one in the next year to see how they are developing. If they turn out like the super corona I had last night then I will be VERY glad I left them alone for so long. Too bad they are discontinued!
n2advnture Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 it is a great smoke, glad i stashed a couple when i heard they were leaving. I HATE that! Great review bro! ~Mark

DocRKS Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 Unconfirmed rumor has it that Jor-El gave out these SUPER Coronas at the birth of his son, Kal-El on the planet Krypton - shortly before that land of the Red Sun blew up. Mrs. El - aka Lara - said it was ok to smoke within the domestic pod chamber. This is the real secret behind Superman's 'powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. But even if the above is proven to be not actually true - these still are a DELICIOUS cigar !...........Look !!! Up in the sky !!! It's a .........;-)
cigardawg Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 I have one of the Upmann SCs with me on vacation. Should be torching it over the next couple of days. Hopefully I'll be posting a review.
waldo Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 What ever it was that I got was the only Upmann that I've ever enjoyed smoking.:-|
