1998 Romeo y Julieta Exhibicion No 4:

Size: 48 x 5

Construction was good, dark coffee brown wraper with a little vaininess.

After lighting, the initial flavor profile was almonds with a sweet, woody finish. There was no change a quarter ways through the cigar.

About half way through the profile was enhanced by a generous portion of sweet fruity citrus, and nutty hints of cream and coffee. This profile continued and at the last third notes of moist earth, cedar and spice that lasted until I nubbed this excellent cigar.

That classic nuts, cedar and spice profile is why the RYJ x4 is one of my favorite robustos.

Many thanks to the generous BOTL who gifted my this little gem.

A nice cigar that for me tastes better with age then fresh. I don't really care for these young but put some age on them and I find them much more appeasing.

I totally agree with you! RYJ x4 are much better with age. I know this for a faxt as my very first habanos cigar was a 1997 RYJx4. :-P

One of the best cigars i've ever smoked was a 98 cedros deluxe 3....truly outstanding cigar that i'll never forget...

Had one from an 04 box yesterday that was starting to come around. It too had a coffee brown wrapper with minimal veins. Tastes of caramel and coffee throughout with a hint of mint near the end. Very suitable for an hour of relaxation after 18 holes. Nice review. Thanks!

The 98 RyJ Ex#4 was one of my first Habanos purchases. The tropical/citrus fruit is one of my favorite flavors from a cigar. I have since gone through two boxes and need to find another. Thanks alot for the reminder. :-P
