Just rcvd this email from one of the guys that some mebers of our Forum here have supported: (BTW - the commo blackout referred to here is a shut down of outside personal communications until the family of a fallen soldier is personally notified by the authorities; few things more terrible than losing a son or daughter and then reading about it on the internet first before any official word is delivered.)

Sir,

I appoligize for the delayed response, but it seems to be difficult for me to access the internet these days. We spend most of our time at the forward operating base that my company established in Tarmiyah and it seems like whenever I do make back to camp Taji there is a commo blackout due to the loss of another American Soldier. My battalion has lost at least 8 men in the past week alone, including one soldier from my company. I do want to thank you again for all the cigar contacts you are establishing for me on those great internet cigar boards. It is always a wonderful surprise for me and my soldiers to have a package waiting for me when we get back to the camp and I am sure that is the real reason behind the popularity of this lieutenant with his soldiers. Oh well, something just came up again so I better go. I hope things are going well for you these days; please give my best to A & D when you see them at Ft Bragg. I am really looking forward to our reunion when they arrive in-country in a few weeks. Please Take care....................

Respectfully,

Thanks Doc, that's good stuff and it's very important to let them know we support them. All Veterans know what it means to get a pacakge or even mail from the world.
