What is Serrico? I've never heard of it. My solution is air conditioning.:-D Seriously, I keep my cigars around 68-70 degrees year round. Have not had any outbreaks in a long time. Not to say that it cannot happen...it certainly can, but the cooler temperatures sure help keep the eggs from hatching.
cigarnut Posted April 21, 2006 Author Posted April 21, 2006 I bought it on ebay.Under the search " cigar beetle traps" very indepth detail there on it and how it works.
n2advnture Posted April 21, 2006 Posted April 21, 2006 I have used them for years. They are NOT a deterrent but more of an "early indicator". The have a "food lure" and a "pheromone lure" to attach the beetles to the trap so you can see if any are present. If the company that sold them didn't make you buy 100,000,000,000 of them at a time, I'd carry them. :-D

If you are referring to the Serrico Traps then yes I use them. They are a pherome based lure/trap that you put in the humi (away from the front) and it traps them much like the old fly paper. There are two disks or pills that you put on the sticky trap that lure them in. However, this doesnt prevent beetles from hatching out. It just helps you recognize and trap them.
