Hello to all, i am very curious about the SCDLH line. Never tried any ! It my understanding they are new from 2000. Looking for some of your advise now that they are getting some age on them. I currently smoke alot of medium to full sticks. Will these go with some of my likes? Your input is appreciated.

Thanks

If you enjoy medium to full sticks you will probably like the SCdH line.

In my opinion they tend to be rich and full bodied and very creamy. The El Principe is a nive little smoke and the La Punta is especially good, however the ones I've smoked all seem to have drwa problems. Not sure if anyone else has experiened this.

I have never had a draw problem with any of the San Cristobals. I really like the El Principe and the El Morro, both have a nice chocolate tone to them. The La Punta is also very smooth with some subtle sweetness and coffee with cream flavors.

I saw a nice little review on the La Punta that Smokiethebear posted on another site. Maybe we can convince him to share it here as well (if he hasn't already). He said some nice things about it and he also said it is a good med/full bodied smoke.

I smoked my first La Punta last night. It was pretty tasty, but had a loose draw, and I barely clipped it.....too bad

Flavor wise, it was pretty intense cedar and cream the first inch, then it mellowed.

I prefer the El Principe over the La Punta based on this one experience.

The El Prini's are in my top 3 TPC's.....:-P

I find the line to be medium bodied at most but with great flavors. Because of the size of the El Morro I do believe it builds strength better than some of the others. They are premium cigars and definitely worth adding to your collection.

Well, I guess I'll be the dissenter.

I don't think any of these cigars are bad, I just don't think they're good, either.

I find smoking them to be tedious. Every time I try one, I end up thinking of what I could have chosen to smoke that I would have been enjoying more.

Taste good to me. I've had some draw problems with 01 EL Morros, but never with La Punta or El Principe.

Mel...you should be a professional reviewer :lol2:

I enjoy the Mollases edge to the SCDLH line. Principe and La Punta are the standouts.

I love this line with the El Principe being my "go to" smoke, I have boxes from 01-04 with the 01's being the best. The El Morro, La Fuerza and La Punta from 01 are fantastic and I've never had any draw problems.

I really can't wait to try the new ones:hungry:

I've only had the principle, but have a la punta waiting patiently in the humi;-) ...it may get devoured this weekend while at the south carolina cigar sit down....

I know one cigar does'nt make a review but heres my"impression"

Tried the El Principe for the first time last night, great aroma, flavour and hints of peppery spice in last third but the burn and draw spoilt this cigar for me. The draw was tighter than a crabs arse at forty fathoms :surprised:

!! Still got a couple of singles in the humi so I might give them a little longer to mature, ;-)

» This brand, IMO, needs time to mature, but you will not be disappointed!

Key point... these cigars need time. All of the original release vintage (1999) are smoking wonderfully. I do not recall ever having a draw issue with any SC.....keeping in mind that mine are in the 61-62% RH range.
