Van55 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 A friend of mine recently purchased a couple of boxes of PSD4 at LDCH outlets in the far East. They have no factory codes on them, and the cigars are authentic. Are these boxes anomalies, or has Cuba stopped using factory codes in recent months? I think these boxes were dated DIC 05. I have no stock that young. El Prez? What does your recent inventory look like, mate?
cvm4 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Interesting Van...No factory code but it still has a date code. Some Cuban cliche comes to mind :-)
cigarnv Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 I have a number of DIC05 dated boxes and all have factory codes. I have not seen any boxes without a factory code. I assumed the factory codes were used for internal inventory and QC control so one would assume they would still be applied.
CIGARHead Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Interesting Van. Love to hear what insight Prez has on this.
Loki Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Fidel must have taken away the rubber stamps. Poor people. What else will he ban?
wasch_24 Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 » are the cigars you buy from this site authentic cuban cigars sent to the » unites states? What? That is very strange Van.
El Presidente Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Van. I can confirm that all DIC 05 and post DIC 05 stock that we hold have the factory and date codes. However...I have seen this (rarely) on stock. Just a factory stuff up.

Van55 Posted April 13, 2006 Author Posted April 13, 2006 Thanks Rob. I thought these boxes must just be factory errors. I was sure that if Cuba had decided to drop factory codes from all boxes, it would have been big news on all the cigar boards.
Well Armed Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 They're obviously fake. Cuba never messes up their packaging in any manner!
