Van55 Posted April 12, 2006 Posted April 12, 2006 Rob and Ken... Did Habanos s.a. give you guys anticipated dates for the releases of the 2006 cigars announced at the Festival? I am particularly looking forward to trying the Por Larranaga Lonsdales, if the price is not prohibitive.

I definitely want to get my hands on some PL Lonsdales. But those, among several other vitolas, are going to be regional releases specific to certain countries. If my memory serves me correctly, the PL Lonsdales are going to be released in Germany. Hopefully they'll be afordable, considering the euro-to-dollar ratio isn't as bad as the pound-to-dollar (hence, the Ramon Allones Belicosos put out a couple of years ago for the UK market were pretty freakin' expensive), not to mention I think their tobacco tax seems to be less severe than Britain's.

Possibly May. 2006 LE Late May onwards. Keep in the back of your mind that we are still awaiting the Pasrtagas Serie P 2 Tubes which were to be released in 2005

Especially the RyJ SCs and the SP Tubos? I know that at least one vendor out there has received shipment of the first batch of 2006 ELs so I was wondering if you were expecting any soon. Thanks!

I already have my R&J short churchills, Bolivar Colassales and PL lonsdales. A got them from a friend of a friend whose cousin's neighbor works at the factory! LOL. But really, a guy just gave me a supposed Habana, Cohiba torpedo (not the LE) wrapped in cello with lables and everything! I just shake my head sometimes.

When I was speeking to Habanos s.a Wednesday last they were still talking July. Ken...what we had in February was released for the festival only. Will give you guys a full update Friday ;-)

Spain has a Gold Medal listed in their pricelist for 2006. But as far as I know it did not appear yet. The spaniards get to set the price for a cigar only once a year. So everthing that is due to come out during this year has to be published in this pricelist. But again there is no sign of the Gold Medals. The price by the way is 9 Euros... Regards, Tom

Better supplies over the months following. First allocations will go to our regular FOH member clients. We will not supply anyone outside of FOH.
