El Presidente Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Blue sky Sunday afternoon in Brisbane town. 26 degrees celsius. Half way through a bottle of Balmoral Syrah and a Partagas Serie De Connoisseur No 1. Fished with my eldest son this morning from the Fingal Rocks for a nice catch of bream. Took the family to lunch at a great litle Yum Cha restaurant. Took youngest Son to see the Shaggy Dog Movie. Beat eldest son in NFL Platstation 48-28 Playing scrabble with my daughter now on the deck. Will fire up BBQ in an hour or so and cook up some ribs. Life is good :-D

Freefallguy Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 Thursday evening past… temps running right around 70 F., a dinner of home grilled chicken fajita burritos… then off just before dusk to a local trout stream with youngest son… each of us taking a nice rainbow… walking back to the truck quite content under a gibbous spring moon… all the while having enjoyed a Sig I. Life is indeed good. All the same, my thoughts and prayers go out to those hurting and disheartened in Tennessee.
sloth Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 April 9th, 2006... Sunday Woke up today at around 6am, then 9:30am, then 10:30am... Finally walked out of my bedroom to find my mother making pancakes, thick cut bacon, and eggs. Went outside, cigar in pocket, getting ready to help my mother and stepfather in doin' some garden work. Cigar in mouth I trimmed trees, mowed, and raked. The weather was at a calm 70 F... a perfect day for yard work! After the yard was cleaned up and the dead leaves, branches, and grass all collected, my stepfather and I went out for a drive around in the country side only stopping once (which somehow made all of the yard waste disappear!). Came home, relaxed... watch a bit of TV and a drink... finally took a shower and ate dinner. Beef roast with sliced rudabegas and lettuce salad with ginger dressing. Then after that, for the heck of it, a strawberry shortcake! Which brings me to now... with still about an hour of sunlight left... I'm thinking about taking the dog out for a quick walk...
Loki Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 My wife and I took a motorcycle riding course this weekend. Friday night was all class room work. Then came saturday, 7am and raining. We got off the bikes at around 2pm just as the freezing rain was starting, got home wet and cold and in need of a nap. Sunday morning started off a bit better, 7am 36F (Boli pc) but absolutely no chance of rain. Another long day, we got off the bikes at 2:30 pm both of us having passed our course and motorcycle license bound. I lit up a RASCC and enjoyed it thoroughly. Once we arrived home I cracked a cold beer headed for the deck and lit up a VR Unicos and relaxed after a long day. I am very proud of my wife's accomplishment since she has never ridden a bike before. I am looking forward to many years of riding along side of her.
smk819 Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Started the day with newspapers coffee and a Trini Reyes.Too cold to play golf so I watched the Masters and played online poker with a Partagas 898 Varnished. I was down about $3, but came back to win a half a buck. I play really high stakes. Going away tomorrow to a beautiful Inn on the west coast of Vancouver Island. Alas it is smoke free so I will probably have a Monte #2 tonight and a RASS in the car on the way to the ferry, yes life is good.

I think the wife will start out on a Kawasaki Vulcan 500 LTD and I'm going for the new HD FXDBI Street Bob. This is a bobber version of the DynaGlide bike. It kinda old-school. Rob, what kind of bikes do you own?
