BL68MUSTANG Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 Did anyone smoke one of these at the Habanos dinner in Cuba? I was told that some samples of these cigars were handed out. Was also told of a new cigar named Patika which refers back to the indian heritige of the cigars? Can you confirm about the special cigars being rolled only 4000 and to be placed in Eli Blue humidors? I wanted to confirm the information above prior to discussing smoking the one R&J Short Churchill given to me. The cigar was out of this world and have to share the experience. The first expectation was half a R&J Churchill or Exhibition 4. The flavor was fruity, cinnamin and cedar finish. The Fruity flavor was on the lines of apples. The cigar kicked my ass with strength and was dizzy after finishing. Was told they are four months out from release. Forgot to mention the two bands on the cigar the Romeo band is diferent has ESTDE 1845 in the middle and the gold band has Short Churchill.

(i'll also post this as a separate thread for those interested who might not find it here. )
BL68MUSTANG Posted March 26, 2006 Author Posted March 26, 2006 Ken- Thanks for the update. I was told that the special cigar for the 15,000 euro's is for only 40 sticks. I really did like the R&J Short Churchill. One was not enough:-( Did not see your post about the full story of Cohiba Behike, Are all of you going to be at the Las Vegas RTDA? It's the first time I have been invited and will want to hook up.
El Presidente Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I can only travel abroad with Ken once per year ;-) Lisa and I will be at the RTDA. The R&J Short Churchills benefitted greatly from a little rest at 65% RH. They were simply too moist on the night of the release at the Capitol Building Havana. Typical R&J sweet spice profile. I have taken to them a great deal albeit not my preferred size cigar.
