connoiseur29 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I have been in search of a hand rolled cigar (not flavored) with the most pronounced cherry flavor and I don't know which ones have that quality. Does anyone feel that any habanos provide a strong cherry flavor during the duration of the smoke? I have tasted it in a PSD4, but it is a tough flavor to find. What do you think?
Colt45 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I've found cherry to be an element of a number of cigars, but never the core flavor - always a subtle overtone. One of the most recent that I can recall, was the SLR Serie A. It was the first of these that I tried, and of recent vintage. Again, not the most prominent characteristic, but a subtle, integrated component.
habanohal Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 LGC Med D #4 HDM La Hoya Du Prince ( been smokeing alot of them lately for the cherry flavor)
El Presidente Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Ditto what Colt45 has said. Can be found in: Ramon Allones Gigantes, RASS, HDM Le Prince, San Christobal Principe and San Cristobal La Punta, R&J Exhibicion 4. It is never dominant but rather ambushes you when you do not expect it.
shrink Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I was just talking to jjmd about this recently. I have a box of '04 Boli CJ's that have the most pronounced black cherry finish I have ever tasted in a cigar. Rare and tantalizing!

You must prove/backup a statement like that. Send me one of those damn things and I'll tell you if you are right or not.;-)

I said a black cherry finish, NOT a black hairy finish. ;-)
CigarZen Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 The only time I can think of noting the friut-like or cherry flavor was in some 03 BBF. What freakin great box! :-P I miss them. :crying:
habanohal Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 I have 2 boxes of 03 Sanch Panza Non Plus. I am halfway through 1 of them and cherry is the most abundent flavor. Now the 2 boxes I previously went through had more of a salty taste, but not these.
