I don't own a jacket

I find 15 degrees Celcius "Chilly"

I have never really seen snow. I have been on a skiing holiday but never left the bar.

Traditional Christmas for me is at the beach!

.....and all I see on he news is a snowstorm of biblical proportions

:surprised:

What are the odds of "warm and balmy" come my vist this weekend

How about 0- none. LOL It will probably be high 30s to 40 degrees, unless there is a wonderful windchill affect

Zero.

P.S. I don't know if Australians celebrate this, but today (for you) IS Valentine's Day.

Next to zero, lol! It is suppose to be 30-35 F this weekend. As for the snow, it is melting already. Suppose to be warming up all week. There is still going to be snow / slush around, nothing of biblical propotions though.

The secret to surviving un-australian conditions: imbibe lots of rum/vodka/scotch. You need to start on the plane at least 3 hours before landing, and do not stop until 1 hour before departure. Good luck ;-)

Will be in the mid fiftys by Wensday and Thursday with some rain snow will be almost gone by than..

Going to have great weather on Saturday (sun and clouds high thirtys)..

We all will be so drunk we won't feel a thing..:-D

You boys will cope with the cold. I agree with Jimmy the only thing you'll be feeling is a Buzz.

Picture needing a heavy, thick, wool overcoat that is covering sweaters, over flannel shirts, which of course is over your long-johns thermal underwear...........

You guys are going to freeze your butts off!:surprised:

I was there last christmas. Thermal underwear is the key. Then buy a good jacket when you're over there. Those long black North Face brand puffy jackets seem to be the go. Remember when drunk, too much time outside and your nose could get frost bite. So have someone check for icycles every two minutes. Great city. Love the steam coming up from the manhole covers just like in the movies. :-D

EL - Living in arizona most of my life and never owning coat or a pair of rubber sole shoes for east coast weather. I would imagine in your neck of the woods is hot like AZ and you have leather sole shoes. Better bring rubbers soles not only will ur ass be cold your feet will be wet!!

Definitely need to wear something while outside, especially when it is windy. At least a scarf or a hat or a jacket.

There still will be snow on the ground on Saturday, as Northern Queens got like 24 inches of snow.

Once the sun sets, it gets real cold real fast.

Unless you just want to suck it up.

» ...when you arrived probably thought: “these *** Americans with their ear

» muffs, hats, fur…”

» Now you want to be ***!!!!:-D :-D

I refuse to wear Muffs

I refuse to wear Hats unless it is an Aussie Akubra. Yes those floppy eared bear hats ....are ***.

I refuse to wear Fur

I don't own "Rubber sole Shoes" (Not since grade 2 in school)

Bugger it. I will just go cold :lookaround:

Rubber soled shoes are a good idea in NYC. You don't want to be grounded when you step on an electrified manhole cover--which, according to news reports, seem to be everywhere...;-)

At least coming here during winter will spare your olfactory nerves the wonderful "smells of summer".:-D

haki shorts...

Madras shirt...

Cool shades...

Sandals...

Suntan lotion...

Now, considering you are an Aussie, you should have NO problem walking the streets of NYC. And considering all the FREAKS that walk our streets, you should fit in nicely!:-P

Seriously, jeans, short sleeve t-shirt, warm long sleeve shirt, and a wool sweater! Pair of jeans, warm socks (wool if you have them) and YES, some sort of rubber soled shoe or a clean decent pair of sneakers. And a light jacket over top (or a sport coat.) You are only going to be getting in and out of cabs on saturday. Friday night you guys will be so tired and drunk you won't even feel the cold. :lol3:

Just remember, suck it up for a few days in NYC and then you are off to the tropics of Havana!
