I imagine almost any flavor or aroma is possible. I've tasted salt in some cigars but cannot say it tended over to seafood salt but apparently smell is a good memory trigger so you may have had a memory overlay that then in turn influenced the flavor? I think that is part of the appeal is the unexpected and changing nature of the sensory experience. Try another one and see how it strikes you. I'm always curious how the setting and ambient temperature and whatever you are sipping with it might also change the experience.

That is such a good point about the memory overlay. I also think you are spot on about being influenced by the setting, temperature, drink pairing and everything. I definitely plan on having another one this weekend with the same Malbec that I had with my JLS1 over this past weekend. Thanks for the input, it's much appreciated!!!!

Let us know how it goes and what is the same and what is different. I'm curious as well.

A favorite descriptor comes from a friend who'll only say it when he's excited about some "old" flavors -- He calls 'em "Early Attic."

It's an endearing term, recognizing the funky wonders of an old-but-still-bold CC. While it generally comes with (or near) those wild, mineral-forward twang flavors of some CCs -- "Early Attic" is its own thing.  It's slightly "off" and kinda musty but in a good way.

Love me some Early Attic. :)
