Popular Post Chas.Alpha Posted May 10 Popular Post Posted May 10 As everyone already knows, Ted Turner passed on May 6th, 2026. HOF Braves manager Bobby Cox passed yesterday at the age of 84. I only once said hello to Ted Turner while he was walking the mezzanine at Fulton County Stadium. He seemed very friendly and outgoing. Bobby Cox is rightfully a HOF manager. Coming out of the Toronto organization with GM John Schuerholz. He transformed the Braves from a passing curiosity into a powerhouse club from the ‘90’s into as late as this afternoon. (Braves up over The Dodgers 7-2 in the 9th.) I never met Bobby Cox, but my wife will attest that he always had time for the fans! Gruss Gott, Ted and Bobby. 8

jackhammer Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Growing up in Georgia in the 80s and 90s, I was a huge Braves fan. One of my earliest memories is of going to Fulton County Stadium (The Launching Pad) with my father and watching Dale Murphy play. Baseball was on in our home every evening, but it wasn't until I got older that I learned how TBS was responsible for creating Braves fans in every state due to its nationwide broadcasting. Ted Turner was a true visionary and titan of media. To this day, Braves country always shows out well for away games. I met Bobby Cox on multiple occasions and have several autographed items from him. He took the Braves organization on a 14 consecutive division title run that will likely never again be duplicated. Bobby's impact on the team is still felt in many ways today. He and John Shurholtz are responsible for one of the greatest turnarounds in baseball history (Worst to first), and established a culture of winning that is still present over 35 years later. RIP Ted and Bobby. 2 1
