2026 marks the year in which company founder and patriarch José Orlando Padrón would have celebrated his 100th birthday. As expected, Padrón has announced a special new release to commemorate this anniversary, which has already generated a great amount of excitement in the run-up to the 2026 PCA Convention & Trade Show.

Although details about the Padrón José O. Padrón 100th Anniversary cigar are still largely under cover, the official release is scheduled to take place toward the end of the year.

While I bet this cigar will be absolutely killer, I can't help but feel like this defeats the purpose of celebrating 100 years. If the goal is to honor his father and everything he built, only a couple hundred people will ever get to try this. 

I hope they go the route they did with the 50th anniversary of the Company. Come out with the stellar humidor, then put out a regular production version as well for the masses to enjoy.
