Hey everyone, this post is my first on this forum.

I have a question regarding this increasing metallic/salt taste that develops on my tongue as I smoke a cigar.  I’ve had some sinus issues recently (dryness, drain, slight congestion, cough up stuff, but not sick), and for the past five or so days, every time I smoke I get a bad metallic/salt taste on my tongue that gets worse as I smoke more of the cigar.  It also feels like the flavour starts in the back of my throat like where your sinuses drain.  But no sores, no lesions, nothing like that, just this bad taste.  I can still discern some flavours on the retro, but still somewhat limited.  I’ve been using Flonase and saline solution, and I’m wondering if the combination of sinus issues and the medicine is causing it.  Nothing else has changed (I’m not smoking more/less, no diet changes, no stress, etc.).  This is the first time I’ve ever experienced something this prolonged, as I’ve had sinus infections before.

I’m assuming that it will pass as my sinuses return to normal, but has anyone else experienced something like this?  Is it a combination of sinuses/medicine?

Medicine reactions or increased stress levels can cause a metallic taste on the tongue.

Yeah I find this happens to me sometimes. Dry mouth and gum inflammation can cause it as well. As long as your oral hygiene is good it should pass (not to suggest it isn’t already!). But unfortunately it can take a few days.
