Popular Post JohnS Posted March 27 Popular Post Posted March 27 Jeremy Stamkos to Release Cigar Sanctuaries at PCA26 March 26, 2026 - Samuel Spurr Jeremy Stamkos will officially release Cigar Sanctuaries: The Art and Science of the Modern Indoor Cigar Lounge at PCA26, the Premium Cigar Association’s annual trade show hosted in New Orleans. Aimed at cigar retailers, lounge owners, hospitality operators, designers, engineers and private collectors interested in the design and performance of indoor cigar spaces, Cigar Sanctuaries focuses on the technical side of lounge environments, including airflow, smoke management, humidity control, temperature stability, filtration, acoustics and long-term operational performance. Stamkos, the founder of Puros Environmental, has more than 30 years of experience in indoor air quality, HVAC, environmental systems and contamination control. In Cigar Sanctuaries, he applies that background to cigar lounges, arguing that premium smoking environments should be treated as controlled indoor systems rather than simply styled spaces where smoking is allowed. “The best lounges don’t fight smoke, and they don’t simply try to hide it – they guide it,” said Stamkos. “When airflow is intentional and the environment is stable, the room feels calm, clear and effortless. That is when the cigar and the experience become the focus.” Full Article: https://www.cigarjournal.com/jeremy-stamkos-to-release-cigar-sanctuaries-at-pca26/ 3 3
pohlmad Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Wow! Pretty cool idea and I agree it’s a gap in our industry. However, 68 pages for $280 seems steep! 1

I wonder if the 68 pages is a misprint... even with heavy stock premium paper, 68 pages would be ~7mm thick. The picture of the book looks like 20mm or so at least. That said, the market for this book is a few friends and family, a few people who just like nice books for their shelf, and then... who? People who design professional level smoke extraction systems? I'd say a print run of 300 copies is probably reasonable. 500 is ambitious. Given that run, your per-copy cost would be very high, and hence $280 is where he needs to be to make it work. That said, I am close to releasing a 72 page supplement for my book and the discussion we are having is whether $40 would be considered extortionate pricing. 6
JohnS Posted March 30 Author Posted March 30 I don't know Alex, I wonder if you'd want a copy for curiosity's sake? Incidentally, Jeremy Stamkos resides in the same city you do. It's a small world! 😁

Funny, I complain and ended up buying anyway, as I would love to understand how to build a smoking room/lounge in my home one day. Also, I would gladly pay the $40 for the Supplement, as your book is probably the best book I own! 4
