I'd be happy with Paredes providing we don't do something stupid for him - e.g. give up Wilyer... or even Duran. And I'd happily take Marte's age and any personality issues for what he brings. Bregman is the same age, I think. And I think the personality stuff was a bit blown out of proportion last year, to be honest. Marte makes more sense now as we can trade from our Pitching depth to get him. Just not Tolle or Early, please 🙏. Lol. Which is exactly what they'll want.

He's probably learned to run through the plate by now. Poor dude was THE scapegoat; a lot of guys would have called it a career after the WS. He's still a decent defensive sub to give the 1s a break. If there are more moves, it'll likely be via trade unfortunately.

Couldn’t give you a definitive answer on the first and last questions, but the middle one’s a pretty sure bet given their record last year. 

The real selling point, however, is they’re in the NL West with Mike’s back-to-back World Series winning superstar-laden Dodgers, and 3 other pretty good franchises… so they should be total dogshit for the foreseeable future... if that’s your thing?

The Rockies are the bottom of the barrel and their rag tag fans have no heart. The White Sox are trash. And then you have the Marlins. I think it would be easier to find some team to hate and root against them. In that case who is easier to hate than the Dodgers? Maybe the Astros? The Yankees? All very hateable haha.

Not sure how well Star Trek TNG translates, but imagine a team going against the Borg (Dodgers), and baseball fans are considering being assimilated instead of cheering for the underdog 🤣

I also like the Pittsburgh Pirates for you @El Presidente. Consistent losing record, distinct lack of ambition, but with more potential upside to shock and… entertain (?). They also have one of the best pitchers in the game today in Paul Skenes.

Plus it would couple well with your support of the Buccaneers.

Good call. Maybe add the Reds to the list for @El Presidente because of Marge. An owner so bad, that she refused to buy her team a dinner after sweeping the WS as she missed out on additional revenue from an extended series. They allegedly ate Burger King just to spite her 😆 

New ownership now, but a good story.

Yes, it seems that is correct. Which makes me wonder why $US32 million was a problem for Skubal in 2026 when the Tigers are willing to give Valdez $US38.33 million this season and Skubal only $US19 million, by comparison.

Could we assume that someone right now (a.k.a. another team) is working very hard to get Skubal this season in a blockbuster trade?
