JohnS Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Davidoff Says Ownership Has Transferred to the Next Generation January 28, 2026 - Charlie Minato Oettinger Davidoff AG, the Swiss company that owns the Davidoff, AVO, Camacho and Zino brands—has announced that shares in the company have been passed down to the Schneider family’s next generation. The privately-held company announced that Lilian Schaffner-Schneider and Christine Ryhiner-Schneider, daughters of Dr. Ernst Schneider, have transferred the “entire share capital” of the company to their direct descendants. “The handover of the ownership of Oettinger Davidoff to the next generation is an important milestone in the company’s 150-year-history,” said Domenico Scala, chairman of the board of directors of Oettinger Davidoff AG, in a press release. “The goal is to preserve, continue and further drive the legacy, passion and pioneering spirit of the company’s founders, above all Dr Ernst Schneider and Zino Davidoff, and to ensure the company’s continued success. The next generation is already closely connected with the organization and remains committed to continuing the company as an independent family-owned business while further enhancing its leading position in the handmade premium cigar industry. I am pleased to take this opportunity to thank the previous shareholders for their many years of dedicated collaboration. At the same time, I look forward to working with the next generation, continuing to develop our successful strategy and delighting our customers with innovative brand and unique retail experiences.” Per the press release, the family will retain two seats on the six-member board. The company said that this announcement does not mean any changes to the Davidoff management team. In addition to its own cigars, factories in the Dominican Republic and Honduras, the company also has a large retail footprint that includes 65 Davidoff of Geneva since 1911 stores; Wolsdorff Tobacco GmbH, a chain of more than 170 stores in Germany; and A. Dürr & Co. AG in Switzerland, which includes roughly 25 stores. Source: https://halfwheel.com/davidoff-says-ownership-has-transferred-to-next-generation/461335/ 3 1
