A Cigar Cutter That Holds Your Money

Cigar cutters can take many shapes and sizes. Some double as jewelry, while others are built into lighters or even shaped like a Rubik’s Cube. The possibilities are endless, and no one understands this more than French accessories manufacturer Les Fines Lames. The company has made a name for itself by producing ritzy (albeit slightly unconventional) cigar accessories. Some examples include the Punch Bracelet, the Le Petit Cigar Knife Cutter and the Monad Concrete Ashtray, to name a few. Now, the company has expanded its Le Tag cutter series—originally fashioned as a cigar cutter necklace—to be part cigar cutter, part money clip, with a new model called Le Tag - Clip.

The new cutters mirror the original Le Tag T-135 model in many respects. Functionally speaking, the Le Tag - Clip is more or less the exact same as the T-135, with the same cigar-cutting capabilities. The model is a double-blade, stainless-steel guillotine cutter that can cut cigars up to 100 ring gauge. The Le Tag - Clip, while fatter than the T-135, remains relatively slim, only eight millimeters thick. The extra material is due to the clip feature. The clasp on the backside of the cutter is taut, so securing money or cards shouldn’t be an issue. But, if you’re still loyal to the traditional wallet, the cutter can also double as a pocket clip to ensure your accessory is at-the-ready. The Le Tag - Clip is available in five finishes: Champ, Black, ODG, Red and Blue. It sells for $120.

“Always be ready, so you never have to get ready,” says Fabien Kerneis, head of digital for Les Fines Lames. “Le Tag - Clip carries forward the philosophy behind Les Fines Lames’ revolution in cigar accessories.”

The Les Fines Lames website features tons of accessories, specifically many iterations of their product portfolio with unique designs and finishes. But for the Le Tag - Clip, you’ll have to make a purchase in-person, at least for the next six months. The cutters will only be available via the company’s network of roughly 700 retailers, starting February 9 and running until August 9.
