El Presidente Posted Wednesday at 08:37 PM Posted Wednesday at 08:37 PM This series to explore whether a particular cigar is humidor worthy. Cost these days is an issue for many so let's see if we can highlight some absolute standouts. This should particularly assist those new to the cigar world. To be fair, most of the cigars we have featured to date have scored exceptionally well. Surprisingly well! Scoring is: 1-3 (Poor) 4-6 (Average to good) 7-10 (very good to excellent) Use the Poll. You are more than free to comment away Is the Cohiba Siglo 1 a worth the $25-$30 USD entry price (rough online global price)? I think the Cohiba Siglo 1 is a magnificent cigar. The height of perla perfection. Powerful yet elegant. Rich yet subtle. Have your say!
Lucas Buck Posted Wednesday at 09:48 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:48 PM My favorite short smoke. Gives everything I’m looking for with those rich Cohiba flavors. Wonderful always satisfying smoking experience. 4
smashed Posted yesterday at 12:01 AM Posted yesterday at 12:01 AM Simply put, would never choose a Sig 1 over a Sig 2, which is why I doubled up on the 2's and no longer keep the 1's on hand. Just a way better smoke, in my opinion. Sig 1 is the only Siglo I don't have (extensive) stock of anymore. 4
Popular Post Ford2112 Posted yesterday at 12:06 AM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 12:06 AM If they were cheap. But they aren't. A good Siglo I is a great little smoke but dude, they are out of their heads with the pricing on these. 7
JohnS Posted yesterday at 05:48 AM Posted yesterday at 05:48 AM I am in agreement that the Cohiba Siglo I can be a very satisfying cigar, flavourwise, but I have to lament also at the current pricing. 4
pohlmad Posted yesterday at 12:35 PM Posted yesterday at 12:35 PM Siglo I’s are great cigars that are perfect for many occasions. Dog walks, surprise smokes with the boys, quick smoke before/after a game, etc. As others have said, the current price isn’t worth it. Plenty of other short smokes with much better pricing and still very good. If these were priced closer to Partagas Shorts I would have loads of them! I still have about 3 boxes from when they were $300 per box. 4
Popular Post El Presidente Posted 13 hours ago Author Popular Post Posted 13 hours ago I will go with a Padron 1926 Anni Principe Maduro (46x4.5) over a Cohiba Siglo 1 these days. $13 V $26. Painful to say. 5
BG318 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Agree with the above posts. Perlas are my favorite sized CC, and I have never found a suitable alternative in the NC world. If I can't get an affordable Cuban I'm not smoking Perlas. I wonder where the breaking point is price wise since it keeps heading north. Sig 1 and Reyes are taking me close as much as I like them. As long as San Cristobal, Rafael Gonzalez, Monte, and Upmann are putting out smalls I'll survive. 3

Curious about your thoughts on Siglo 1 if you take price off the table - so purely from a smoking experience standpoint. Where do you rank it against other Perlas/minutos eg, Reyes, Party Shorts, BCJ, RASCC, Monte 5, HUHC? 1

Lucas Buck Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago 100%. There are none close to Siglo I & Reyes unfortunately. Wish there were. 1

I knew I left a few out, even though I like both and they’re in my current rotation. 1
