Great pop of earth and leather to begin mellowed quickly into cherry creme chocolates in a leather briefcase. Some brownies and raspberry jam. It caught some heat about midway and shifted more mellow coffee and cream. Not as a luxurious mouthfeel as some of the other Casdagli, but still much richer in that than a lot of NC at the same age. 88 5 1
Popular Post Capn_Jackson Posted November 13, 2025 Popular Post Posted November 13, 2025 Petit Robusto version of the Basilica blend. Cold draw is mildly nutty, some cocoa powder, not very sweet. Light-up is delicious walnuts with coffee. At 4 inches, doing this in thirds would be a silly exercise, so I’ll go in halves. Heading into this little chunk, there’s a deep, rich chocolate covered coffee bean. Milk chocolate, but deep. Also tasting a lot of holiday baking spice. Cinnamon, clove, and black tea. Around the halfway point, most of the sweetness dissolves, more nutty and earthy here. Hazelnut, maybe a little dark cocoa powder. Still lots of savory holiday baking spice. After the halfway point, the nutty note is now walnut, like the very first draw. Rare that I get walnut from a cigar, but totally feeling it here. Little bits of shell bitterness mixed in as well, but not offensive, just adding depth. Eventually get some fig and mushroom jam, with tiny flecks of guajillo. End is much the same. Holiday spices, some ancho chile, coffee. Really enjoyed this one, unique like the other Casdaglis I’ve had recently, maybe just not as refined. 90 6

TheFez Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 I really like this one and smoke a lot of them, as well as the rest of the basilica line. Waiting for the C1 Toro Maduro and the C2 Lancero to come back around, those are so good. Thanks for the review!
