LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A south Lincoln fire is estimated to have caused $25,000 in damage on Sunday.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue were called to an apartment building near 56th Street and Pine Lake Road at 8:01 p.m. A fire was reported in a garage beneath the apartments.

When crews arrived, they noticed smoke coming from the garage and knocked it out.

LFR spokeswoman MJ Lierman said the homeowner reported they had been working on some cars in the garage. They said they had disposed of a cigar near the area, which was likely to have started the fire.

Lierman said the fire caused an estimated $25,000 in damage. No injuries were reported, and all occupants were able to stay in the home.
