JDoughty Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 With many thanks to @Chibearsv, I was able to enjoy a well aged 2021 Nudie Lancero tonight. This cigar was pure focused power and intensity. Notes of chocolate brownies and baking spice on the cold draw. First light offered notes of dark espresso with a solid backbone of woodsiness and a bit of leather. There was a hint of raisin without the sweetness, but plenty of richness. I got some dark cocoa powder and pepper along with a hint of deep umami savoriness. The burn line was razor sharp and the ash was solid. Absolutely perfect draw and burn throughout. The power and body continued to ramp up to the point that the retrohale was comparable to a Liga or Padron in intensity and aftereffect. The flavor profile also reminded me of a Padron, full and deep and elegant with plenty of power and backbone. I got fewer flavor notes and less complexity than I have with the 2025 sticks that I smoked relatively fresh, but the balance and elegance is all there, just stripped down to its pure essence and magnified in potency and intensity. Very impressive evolution over time, and this cigar definitely has plenty of legs to continue aging. If this year's sticks are fine young stags, the 2021 is a fully mature buck with a bull neck and a spectacular rack of antlers. Well worth hunting! Much appreciation to my benefactor. 2
