If Gen Z, I'd assume mostly wealther/influencer types, are smoking Habanos, they probably care less about the smoking experience and more about the status it brings. Just my 2 cents. Don’t take my word for it, but sample the new releases and see for yourself. Then you can decide if it’s a coincidence or not. 1
comptalk Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 Pretty sure they are mostly into CBD and THC, maybe tobacco vapes. I do not see many young people smoking cigars. Cigarettes seem to be making a come back though. Snuff use is also growing for some strange reason.
MrBirdman Posted October 21, 2025 Posted October 21, 2025 Habanos doesn’t give a s**t about its current smokers of any age. It’s better to think of their appeal to classes rather than age demographics at this point - that’s certainly how they seem themselves. 1

Gen Z’s conditioning towards instant gratification notwithstanding, I think it’s at least partly due to growing competition from NC cigars that don’t need any aging. Approachability while young is also probably just reflective of their movement from a consumer good to a luxury lifestyle accessory. The blend’s job is to remain inoffensive and allow the heavy lifting to be done by the band, which most important part of a Habanos now. 1

So yes, I think it probably does have to do with other factors.

Habanos appears to care more about class level. I'm no wine expert (especially compared to others on FOH) but at least that market caters to people at all income levels. 3
