Popular Post JohnS Posted September 24, 2025 Popular Post Posted September 24, 2025 The good people at Cigar Sense have announced a new study in relation to what they do best - namely, attempt to objectively rate cigars and list the sensory quality of them. This study involves an open invitation for cigar enthusiasts to list what they expect, what they experience and their evaluation of the cigar afterwards in a 3-step process that is aimed at investigating the perceived bias towards luxury or more prestigious cigar products. In my opinion, the intentions of this study are quite noble. Who doesn't want to know if your everyday $US5 Non-Cuban cigar is actually better than a $US40 Habanos one? The Reward? Until 31 December 2025, cigar enthusiasts who submit evaluations for at least 5 different cigars, will receive a complimentary 1-year Cigar Sense premium membership, giving them full access to our database and all personalized recommendations tailored to their palate thanks to Cigar Sense's Profile Advisor. Now that doesn't sound to bad, does it? To participate in the study, simple follow the link below: https://www.cigarsense.com/cigars-from-expectation-to-storytelling/ 8 3
Popular Post CigarSense Posted September 25, 2025 Popular Post Posted September 25, 2025 Thank you so much for posting about our study! We believe there is a shift : consumers seem to be moving from cigars as a sign of ostentation and wealth to a symbol of knowledge and authenticity in the sensory experience. We would like to verify this shift. For this we ask to participate in this study, so we can combine objective (trained panel), hedonic (liking), emotional, evocative (images), and metaphorical (analogies) data and help close the gap between expectations (from hype) and storytelling. It's a 3-step process explained at the link shared by JohnS (thank you!!). And yes, there is a reward, as he explained. Feel free to ask questions on the study, we'll be very happy to answer! 7
