Michigan's Biff Poggi jokes he'll have ice cream, cigar, hospital visit after Nebraska win

Biff Poggi is one of a kind when it comes to his postgame quips.

The latest one came after Michigan football's 30-27 Big Ten-opening win against Nebraska at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday. Poggi, the interim Wolverines coach, was asked by CBS Sports' Jenny Dell how he was going to celebrate the win.

"I'm gonna eat some Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream with my wife and smoke a Cuban cigar," Poggi said. "And then probably go the hospital."

The comedic sense of humor by Poggi to Dell marked his second viral clip of the day, as he had some fun in a back-and-forth conversation with former Alabama coach Nick Saban while appearing on ESPN's "College GameDay" earlier in the day.

The Wolverines' win over the Cornhuskers marked the sixth consecutive win in a conference opener for Michigan. It also marked the second win for Michigan under Poggi, who has been serving as the Wolverines' interim coach the last two weeks while Sherrone Moore served his two-game self-imposed suspension for his involvement in the Connor Stalions sign-stealing case.

Poggi will return to his normal duties as Moore's associate head coach in the Wolverines' Big Ten game vs. Wisconsin on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood completed 12 of 22 passes for 105 yards on the day, adding 61 rushing yards on the ground against the Cornhuskers defense. The Wolverines sealed their narrow three-point win with an onside kick recovery in the winding minutes of the contest after Huskers quarterback Dylan Raiola brought the score to within one possession with a late, fourth-quarter touchdown.

Michigan heads into its Week 5 bye with a 3-1 overall record, with that lone loss coming in Week 2 against Oklahoma.
