Cedar veneer cut

Please share your fresh observations.

Are the standards for cedar veneer promises still being followed, which used to be an indirect sign of a fake? This refers to cutting the corner at a radius instead of a straight line.

I'll report if I find any boxes with the radius cut and I'll notify if I have any other suspicions base on the source. I seem to recall having one or two boxes like that but I can't name them off the top of my head.

Smoking a P2 right now that I pulled from a 2023 box with a radial cut on the top sheet with the Partagas logo and diagonal cut on the plain bottom sheet. It’s a PSP box too. So I’d say all bets are off regarding legitimacy.

I'll take a look next time I'm looking through some boxes/cabs. I want to say I've got a box of Siglo Is from 19 that is a 'straight cut'. I'll check and report back.

Last box I looked in had a diagonal cut on the bottom sheet as well. A 2014 HUPC box. PSP as well like @Chibearsv, so legitimacy is not a question.

Checked out a couple of my Cohiba cabs; CoRo, Sig II, Sig I were all radial (17-21) and Sig III from 20 was diagonal cut. So it seems to me that using the corner cut style is not a good way to determine legitimacy.
