In summary, the insights into the microbiome of cigars from this research could pave the way for advancing artificial fermentation technologies. These could be instrumental in changing the intrinsic quality of cigar tobacco leaves, including their aroma, flavour, and combustion characteristics—a key focus of research in the Chinese tobacco industry.

Hydroponics for Chinese tobacco industry?

I only liked the part of science where stuff blew up or self ignited. But please let me summarize based on my 5 second analysis. China might make cigars even better than Cubans…you’re welcome everyone. 😎

Probably the opposite…Chinese cigars have more diverse microorganisms, so it could be either a lot of junk bacteria in there that may mute flavor, or less of the good stuff (that Caribbean tobacco has).

Well if it helps to not associate it with cigars, just think what if everything you touch each and every day was analyzed.

So have they discovered what plume is? 😉 It’s very interesting to see China’s modern methods of determining how they can copy and overtake another industry. Normally this bothers me very much. But with today’s prices, maybe 🤞the casuals will move to Chinese cigars and leave some of the Cubans for me!

How do you get a job as a scientific cigar taster?

I'd like to try a few Chinese produced cigars. Haven't seen any offered at local B&M.
