F1: I Was Today Years Old When I Realized I Dig It.

See F1 in IMAX. Immediately.

Top 10 best movie experiences of all time. The sake at dinner probably didn't hurt.

Don't bother if it's not IMAX. IMAX > 4DX puffs of air, water sprays and roller coaster-y stuff by a wide margin.

The sound in IMAX alone makes every downshift feel like it’s cracking your ribs open.

One of Brad Pitt's best performances.

Anyone else spend their whole lives thinking F1 was the same vibe/people/crowd as Nascar?

I just booked four Pit Grandstand seats for the Singapore GP in October. lol. Anyone else going? Live in SG?

F1 is great. The recent growth in America will be studied in sports for years to come. It is endlessly marketable. Also, quite fun to watch. I will say that attending in person wasn’t as much fun as I’d hoped.

Been a huge fan since 2010. Loved the movie too, though they did take liberties but what Hollywood movie doesn’t? Wish I was going to the Singapore GP! Have a blast!

Will do a full SG write-up when I leave, but from yesterday:

I hear you on the attending in person. It was still awesome, but tough to keep track of who's winning and what's going on.

Anybody else in the city?

The vibe is electric.

We visited France in 2022. It happened to be when the Monte Carlo race was taking place so I took two of the boys to the race. My wife and youngest son went to the casino. I was of course aware of F1 but as a US resident the coverage was somewhat hit or miss and it wasn't a typical topic for local media. Watching the race got me into it and I've followed it ever since. We were in Spain in 2024 and went to the race there. Again, really enjoyable. My brother lives in Miami and at some point we will go to the race there. I enjoy the racing but it would be better if more teams were competitive. The only really top driver is Verstappen and the others all seem to win or lose based more on the car than anything else. I'm sorry, but at 19 Antonelli cannot be the best driver. Very talented, sure, but no way he should be getting more out of a car than a guy who is 30.

I used to work in Marina Bay overlooking the track. Wasn't working there when the Grand Prix was there. Been to the Canadian GP several times and visited Yas Marina and COTA.
