The Upmann Number 2 has a stellar result in the poll. Can the Partagas Serie P Number two know it off?

I like 'em a lot, but would put them behind E2 and D4. Obviously Lusitania is top of the heap for Partagas. They only suffer because I don’t consider them a great value given the strength of the Partagas marca.

~2000 I felt disappointed with Serie P compared to Upmann & Montecristo No. 2. The Partagas has continually got better and better over the years. Really on top of their game now.

The only Piramides I do not like is Dipolmatico. Adore the rest. Have to be picky on the Montecristos though. Will take the rest blind.

Like many CCs, P2 is a solid good cigar but it doesn’t deliver anything exceptional for me. That’s not a bad thing, it just doesn’t warrant a buy from me at today’s prices. I used to bring P2s to the golf course and would happily share them. Now I bring one, for me.

I like them quite a lot. They are a must have for the vitola, and would be in the top four for the marca. They are more obtainable than the Upmann 2 or Dip 2, and probably more consistent than the Monte 2. While on a good day the others can outperform the P2, it's better than just reliable if rarely otherworldly.

Been interested in trying out P2s. Would one consider this a light- medium cigar? Also is there any spice in the flavor notes?

For me they are on the milder side of Partagas. Full flavored, light spice, super complex putting PSD4s to shame. But that’s just me.

I’ve wanted to like these, so many times. Had a handful of good ones, and several that did not perform well. I’d rather spend the coin on D4, Lusi, or even a slew of Party Shorts.

I understand what you mean. Maybe just a bad batch?

P2 over the Monte 2 - more depth of flavor, a more satisfying experience for me. Monte 2 always leave me going "i don't get it" - Rank in Partagas - Lusi, P2, E2, D4.

That is likely, but I’ve had several from a few different batches. Varying years of age, too. Honestly, the best I had were about a year old, with all the three-year, five-year, and eight-year-old stuff underperforming for me. I hesitate to drop $ on a box of anything that needs to be enjoyed that quickly. However, everyone’s mileage varies.

Literally, several different batches, but I get you why you would hesitate to drop some $$. We all work hard for our money. 👍🏻
