One for the more cigar culturally enlightened. :cigar:

I came across the below Egyptomania cigar piercers and rests, London 1925. Great pieces. 

Were cigar piercers used for the same puprose as todays draw pokers or were they solely used to hold a cigar via a spike?

Each of shaped broadly rectangular form, each with a pull out figure of a shabti with piercer. The undersides DREW & SONS PICCADILLY CIRCUS PAT APPD FOR No 8951/25. Each fully and part-marked. (2)
