Monte 80th (FRC MAY25)

Had a little unexpected celebration last night, so I grabbed one of these SOM DIC15. Big beautiful cigar, smooth deep colorado wrapper and nicely filled at 18.1g. Draw is fine, first couple of puffs are chocolate and black tea. Then it’s like one of those dark chocolate orange apples. I’m wishing I was having a chocolate Grand Mariner soufflé and a glass of Port with this cigar. Unfortunately it’s the chef’s night off, but I do have the key to the wine cellar. The smoke is soft and smooth at medium body.

2/3 Coffee, chocolate, Grand Mariner and a nice touch of earth. Medium full with that sweet and salty Monte twang.

3/3 Bittersweet chocolate, caramel, coffee, earthy, body is up to full but smoke is sill still soft and smooth as silk. A delicious 2 hr celebration!

I think I remember some talk about these cigars being a little over the hill, this one has barely made it half way up.
