Hey all,
I’m curious what temperature you all set your humidors to if you live in a hot climate. Say the outside temps are usually 80°F+ and your main smoking spot is outdoors—do you keep your humidor a little warmer to minimize wrapper issues from the temp swing? Or is keeping it at 65°F still the way to go?

Also, do you let your cigars sit out and acclimate before lighting up, or am I overthinking it?

Appreciate any insight!

I don't modify the temperature in my humidors regardless of the season. I experienced one beetle infestation and you'll be manic about doing whatever is necessary to avoid an extended high temperature spike. My preference is to keep close to 65 degrees year round.

I do however pull cigars from the humidor & let them sit in a "cigar dish" for a day or two prior to smoking. Not saying that this ensures a better burn but I've been doing it for several years now & it does seem to help.

Thanks for the insight. I was thinking of pulling out a few sticks I want to smoke for the week and let them sit in a desktop humidor so they adjust. I guess sort of like a dry boxing situation.

My home humidors are not temp controlled and they preform fine. On a hot day or cold (not that we get many), I don't acclimatise my cigars.

What is the highest normal temperature you see inside your house?

I’m in same camp. My home is usually 70-72 degrees F. I don’t have temperature control on humidor situation. So my cigars are at 62-65 RH and 70-72 F.

During the day, inside it would average 24C 74F.

Dec-late Feb. 29C  84F.

Of course assuming we are not home and the house shut up.
