Popular Post El Presidente Posted April 15 Popular Post Posted April 15 Worst current Interviewer in your opinion? Podcast/Cable/TV.......whatever. There are masters of their craft and there are folk who you wonder how in hell did they get to the interview job -"heights" they have achieved. This is not a political discussion but one of interview "technique". I had a busy morning which included walking some 8 kilometers which I enjoy doing while listening to a podcast. Today, I tried again to listen to a recommendation by a member here. The ubiquitous Lex Fridman. I have followed Lex for about two years and I struggle to get through 30 minutes. Being interviewed by Fridman is like being interviewed by a wilted lettuce leaf. Never in the history of interviewing can one man throw so many inane soft balls. My personal opinion of course My nomination. 2 3
MoeFOH Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Ffs! That was me who recommended Lex. So I guess I should defend him... Ok, I can't. Except to say the pod's just not a traditional combative style format. Lex is a spiritual soul and tends to just prod and poke occasionally to get the interviewee rolling. When he does push back and get a little combative it's kind of a shock. And I guess that's what I like about the pod... I can pick the interviewee/topic I'm interested in and hear their piece more or less unmolested. Also, as an added benefit, Lex's monotone voice is very soporific, makes a great sedative if you can't sleep, lol. As for my pick... not a current one (and by his own admission a terrible interviewer) but Dan Harmon was awful. Dan would just ramble on in some circuitous, intellectual fashion and completely fail to ask a question or basically answer it himself before posing it to the guest. Actually got quite entertaining for that characteristic. 1

When it is 1am and insomia has settled in...Headphones come out and Lex Fridman is my podcast of choice. I am asleep within 15 minutes. Guaranteed. 1
riderpride Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Don Lemon - absolute moron. The Dunning Kruger effect on journalism. I'll keep it polite and say he doesn't do his research. Honorable mention to Stephen A Smith. He yells loud enough - that's the best I can say about him. Cheers! 1
