E.P. Carrillo, the two-time Cigar of the Year winner that makes such brands as Pledge, Inch and Encore, is changing its company name—again. It’s now known as Casa Carrillo, the name of its cigar factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic. The company is calling this a rebrand, a move that unites “its U.S. headquarters, factory and global presence under one name that reflects both its heritage and its vision for the future.”

Name changes are not new for Casa Carrillo. When it was created in 2009 by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo and his family, the company was known as EPC Cigar Co. Later, it changed to E.P. Carrillo.

The company’s cigar factory in the Dominican Republic was originally known as Tabacalera La Alianza, a facility Ernesto Perez-Carrillo opened in 2009. Last year, the factory was renamed Casa Carrillo.

Most of the company’s cigars are made at Casa Carrillo, but the company has also aligned with several cigarmakers to do brands made elsewhere, including Allegiance, which is made by Oliva Cigar Co. for Casa Carrillo.
