Popular Post eaglebear29 Posted February 24 Popular Post Posted February 24 Plasencia Reserva 1898 Wrapper: Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper from the Jalapa Valley Binder: Nicaraguan Filler: Honduran Size: Robusto (4 ¾) 120mm x 52 Everything is aged 5 years Initial light up smooth coffee with a hint of toffee. Hints of very faint cherry. So smooth. Creamy smoke. Medium strength. End of First 3rd: Wow a little cherry and strawberry coming through in this mocha. Amazing, the coffee pops every now and then but overall well balanced. End of 2nd Third: Lots of chocolate coming through in the mocha. The cherry is more pronounced. Medium plus strength. End of Final Third: The cherry dances in and out every other puff while the coffee is now 3 shots of espresso with a shot of cream. Final thoughts: Amazing cigar. Glad to see them evolve over the last 2 years with the cherry note that I’ve never gotten before. Definitely opening up one of my boxes. A bummer they are discontinuing this cigar as it’s their oldest with the brand. Nub/pipe-worthy: Yes but don’t have time to throw it in the pipe past the nub as we’re moving crab pots on and off the boat. Little ammonia crept in and out in the corn cob nubber stage. 90/100 10
SirVantes Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Great review! This is in the top 3 of the NCs that I have tasted so far. Amazing value for money, and beats the pants off the Cosecha and Alma range as far as I am concerned. 1
mikejh Posted February 24 Posted February 24 FSRFeb26, did you travel into the future to smoke this? 2

eaglebear29 Posted March 6 Author Posted March 6 Sorry for the late replies and thanks to @JohnS for the fix. Thank you kind sir. Just got done with S.E. AK crabbing and coming out of a mini-hibernation for recovery. Was a blast running the hauler and hydros! Such a fun fishery! Great crew! Pulled out some HUHC for the boys for their introduction into CC's, with a Jun 23 box code I believe. Everyone loved them! On 2/24/2025 at 3:30 AM, SirVantes said: Great review! Thank you, yeah I'm glad to have a few boxes and will look for a few more with how the blend is turning out. Only had a few of the others and more of these and the progression is amazing! Dang it your on to us, that's how we know where all the crab are going to be 😆 On 2/24/2025 at 1:33 PM, unaslob said: Machine like toking to get that ash so uniform. Definitely recommend. I think these in another 3yrs at the 10 year mark are gonna be phenomenal. Gonna be looking for that cherry note to really shine! 1
