I have no clue who the NW Cohibas are supposed to be marketed towards. I know zero people on any cigar forum, group, lounge, etc. that smokes them or buys them. Noobs don't buy them because even the cheapest stick is still $20+ in the US, which is a ridiculous price for a single cigar to start out with. Noobs don't know what a "Cohiba" is in the cigar community, and the aficionados that do would just scoff at the NW Cohiba. It's like putting an AMG badge on a non-AMG Benz. Enthusiast will laugh at you and everyone else just doesn't know or care what an AMG is. You can go into any store or on any site and buy practically any version of any quantity and they would be available. This has the be a Mafia front of some sort. It needs to be studied.

They are trying to cash in on the bourbon boom in the US. Even more specific than that variant of whiskey, practically anything from Buffalo Trace distillery is at cult-level status, even "Weller Special Reserve" which is a $23 screw top bottle. People who don't know the difference between bourbon and whiskey (bourbon is a whiskey) will brag about drinking bourbon, spending $50/pour on bourbon, and just like saying the word "bourbon" in general.

Someone’s buying them…

Those cigars are branded "Silencio" in France (and everywhere but the US I assume) and they have been advertised big time for a couple of years now. I've never smoked one and I don't know anybody who even has. 🤔

I've never cared for any of the NC counterpart brands. There are plenty of amazing NC brands but they are not the counterparts, at least in my humble opinion. Cohiba is even crazier...Who the hell wants a red dot Cohiba when you can have the real deal?😆

I wouldn’t dare waste my money on a NC Cohiba.

I have smoked the Cohiba M and I thought it was a great cigar but very pricey at $30. That was actually the only NC Cohiba that I ever liked. The Cohiba Black is not a bad smoke. I heard the weller is an average cigar though and definitely not worth the price.

NW Cohibas are just for people who don't know or morons making the connection between the ccs and thinking its the same thing. I remember almost buying one way way in the beginning of my cigar smoking days because i knew it to be a "good" brand due to the Cubans but the price turned me off and I'm glad it did.

I'll pay you the full price not to smoke it.

I will send you my Venmo.

Here in the US cubans are not easy to get and if you get them you have to age them, so we have to smoke other cigars. I have 500 different cigars at home and enjoy sampling them. I have to say I did enjoy the Cohiba M which I got for free at my local cigar shop after going on a $1000 shopping spree. 3% discount :)
