Hi all,

New user here from the UK. Been lurking for a while. Seen some great information sharing and discussions going on so thought I’d sign up properly and get involved.

When I was 18 which was some time ago I used to run an off license and we sold cigars there from a little counter top humidor. Naturally I smoked a few and this was my first introduction to cigars. After leaving the off license I didn’t give cigars a second thought until around 3 years ago after Covid unfortunately.

I went to a random spirits shop that also sold cigars. Spoke to the guy there, took his recommendation on a cigar, but it wasn’t a Cuban but Honduran. The time it took me to smoke it, I was hooked. The enjoyment I received, the quietness of mind and a new found appreciation of handmade products not only cigars fascinated me.

I’ve mainly stuck to New World cigars down to pricing, availability, fakes, lack of knowledge on my part etc. However there’s nothing like that Cuban twang. Ended up down the rabbit hole. Started smoking a few Cubans and thought I’d better enjoy what I can whilst I can. I was worried about being priced out of the market before I even started. But there are still good sticks available at reasonable prices. Also I love how this hobby teaches and helps you practice patience and self restraint.

My crowning jewels of my collection is a few Partagas Lithuanias and some Bolivar Regentes 2021 Edicion Limitada. Everything else is standard production Petit Coronas, Coronas, HUHC etc. So not high brow but a start. Thanks all!
