Morning everyone,

I have heard different opinions on aging cigars from Cuba vs the world.

I was hoping to get some insight and opinions from this forum. Two main questions:

What is the best practice for length of time to age? (For example months to rest/age Cohiba Med. Siglo)

Do cigars made in Cuba age better using a different RH than others? (Others being kept at 65% to 70% range.)

Plenty of good info on the forum. Take your time and use the search function. Type in "ageing" and search titles only.  ;)

Here is but one of maybe a 100.

This is why I like to buy by the box. And for favorites, multiple boxes. I’ll age Cubans a minimum one year. This way you can start to test them. They all age differently. Some faster than others. Some better than others. Some can peak pretty soon and then almost stale out. NW with ct shade wrappers IMO don’t age very well at all. But can be amazing pretty young.  A lot of Cubans will really hit their stride at the 5 year mark. If a box is starting to get good I’ll start smoking fee more. If I feel they are peaking or peaked I’ll try to have more/give more. If not smoking well but I know it should be getting better will let them sit.

There's a lot of literature out there about aging. Great way to try what has aged well is get some aged boxes on BR.  For me, I love an aged Partagas Serie D #4. I have probably over 200 of these alone in various stages of aging. It’s fun to age stuff and watch it mature. Also important is to consider space. I age in the box -easier to track dates. But it takes real estate. I got a Raching 2800 and it’s packed to the gills now. Need more space!!! The investment in the humidor more important than the sticks.

Cheers!
