On a road trip to Florida stopped at a 100% random location on side of unassuming little road in Virginia (son said he couldn't hold it until next proper stop to go pee - fair enough). 

1) We look down, and my son & I noticed a black widow spider (first time seeing one in person). 
 

2) We look up, small sign at the very same spot we pulled over informs us we are standing where John Wilkes Booth (Lincoln's assassin) met his demise in a tobacco barn!
 

A very strange yet eventful detour!

P.S. Our spiders are "cute" compared to yours in Australia. Yours are nightmare fuel. No thank you! lol
