The Chinese would have copied it. 

If they were from Darwin, they would have been granted "keys to the city" or 2 cartons of Darwin stubbies. They would have chosen the stubbies.

big fan of china mieville. perdido st station is especially brilliant. he could have avoided that collaboration with Keanu.

I just finished it yesterday, and it wasn't one of his best. He said that he felt like he had been given permission to play with Keanu's toy; to me, it wasn't a particularly interesting or original toy, and he also didn't pack in the extra bits of weirdness that his other novels are often filled with.

i hate giving up on books but i gave up on that one. a few friends did the same.

With books, I follow the Mastermind rule. Although I was sorely tempted to put the new Murakami down. Another eagerly anticipated one that disappointed.
