El Presidente Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 PRESS RELEASE Partagás Serie E No. 2 Tauromaquia y Pedro Romero Tabacalera exclusively presents the sixth special edition of Tauromaquia for the Spanish market, a tribute to the great bullfighter Pedro Romero, alongside Partagás Serie E No. 2. The sixth edition of Tauromaquia pays homage to the bullfighter Pedro Romero, considered one of the founders of bullfighting, and born in Ronda (Spain) in 1754. Descended from a very prestigious bullfighting family, Romero perfected the finesse and elegance of his ancestors in bullfighting in an unparalleled way. Nicknamed “The Infallible,” Pedro Romero is considered the best bullfighter of his time for his talent in directing the bullfight, always with the aim of delivering a perfect finish. Throughout his long and successful career, he was never gored. He was the favourite bullfighter of the famous Spanish painter Francisco de Goya’s, who portrayed him on several occasions. In his later years, he dedicated himself to teaching at the Seville Bullfighting School, where he served as director and master by Royal Order. There he shared his knowledge of bullfighting with a serious and calm demeanour, reflecting his own personality. Partagás Serie E No. 2 Tauromaquia y Pedro Romero is a carefully crafted special edition, exclusive to the Spanish market, consisting of 1,000 numbered boxes. Each of them contains 10 Serie E No. 2 cigars (54 ring gauge x 140 mm) from the Partagás brand. The cigars feature a special band in homage to Romero and the art of bullfighting, and are now available at Spanish tobacconists at a price of €35 per cigar and €350 per box of 10 cigars. 4
loose_axle Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 I'd be curious to see what the final asking price on these is. I had a bloke in Spain trying to charge me 2k in euros for the Juan Belmonte RyJ Wide Churchill set. It was a 'tell him he's dreaming' moment. 1
JohnS Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Spain Selects Partagás For Its Tauromaquia Series Oct 7, 2024 - By Gregory Mottola For the sixth consecutive year, Spain’s Cuban cigar distributor, Tabacalera S.L.U., has released the 2024 Tauromaquia—a series of regular-production cigars packaged in decorative boxes that celebrate the art of bullfighting. The series is made exclusively for the Spanish market, and this year, the design pays homage to 18th century bullfighter Pedro Romero. Inside each glossy, lacquered box are 10 Partagás Serie E No. 2 cigars. Last year’s Tauromaquia was Montecristo No. 2 honoring matador José Luis Mazzantini y Eguía. In 2022, it was a box of Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de San Juans dedicated to Manuel Laureano Rodríguez Sánchez. Like previous releases, every cigar has a foot band to indicate that it’s part of this collection. The Partagás Serie E No. 2 Tauromaquia has a suggested retail price of 35 euros each (about $38) or 350 euros per box, which works out to around $384. Only 1,000 boxes are being produced. RDB Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 I dare someone to tell me these are better than the regular production.
loose_axle Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 I would’ve thought the same and the extra is for the box. More for the collector than smoker.
