GOODFELLAS FINE CIGARS | DECATUR, ILLINOIS

September 15, 2024 - Bruce Busch

Illinois is known as The Land of Lincoln, the celebrated 16th president of the United States. But what most people do not know is that Lincoln’s first home was in Decatur, a city of about 70,000 people located in the middle of Illinois, about 2 ½ hours away from the more well-known metropolis in Illinois, Chicago. But here in the former home of Lincoln in the land of Lincoln you can find Goodfellas Fine Cigars in the downtown shopping district.

Owner Dustin Chapman has taken a time-honored tobacco shop in this mid-sized town and updated it with more humidor space and a greater selection of cigars for the lovers of fine tobacco. Up front in the shop are a variety of chairs and tables for patrons to enjoy their smoke while they watch one of the several big screen tvs, and libations are happily shared with brothers and sisters who have gathered to get away from the world, if just for one smoke.

When you are driving on Interstate 72 between Champaign and the capitol of Springfield, make sure you stop by Goodfellas. Dustin and his manager, Mike, are super knowledgeable and even more friendly, which rounds out the fantastic experience of being at Goodfellas. If you hit it on the right day, you may even get to sample a crafty libation made by Mike the beverage expert! It’s all good to have a good smoke, a good drink and a good time at Goodfellas.
